See what aspects make for a high quality photograph. Learn the language of studio photography, the 9 parameters of successful photos and how to produce them. We’ll cover basic photography, camera and lens choices, the qualities of good lighting, composition, background materials, and how to set your camera’s menus for consistent, high quality photographs. Students will use instructor provided lighting stations during class to learn lighting techniques.
Day 2, Photoshop: Two workflows will be demonstrated using Photoshop CS5 and Elements 11 on how to extract objects from backgrounds, add new backgrounds, create photo realistic shadows and more. Printed workflow books and example images will be given to each student to practice the workflow and are theirs to keep after class. Students will learn how to create color accurate files of their art for use on their website, Etsy, in magazine articles, books, portfolios and for juried competitions. Plus, how to purchase recent versions of Photoshop at less than the full retail price.
