Description
Learn to safely powder coat, which uses an electrostatic charge to apply a permanent finish to steel that is then baked on in a powder coating oven. You’ll prep material, apply powder, and set up and break down all equipment needed for the powder coating process. You’ll be given a bottle opener to powder coat, or you can bring your own small steel object to use. FUSE members who successfully complete this workshop will have full access to the powder coating oven.
Be sure to wear a long sleeve cotton shirt, jeans, and leather shoes. This workshop takes place outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather. Bring your own safety glasses or purchase a pair at FUSE for $3. Powders are considered a nuisance dust, so we also recommend wearing an N95 mask or MSHA approved respirator.
