Upcoming Workshops
What types of workshops are offered at FUSE?
Operation and Safety Trainings are required to use FUSE and each specific equipment area has its own Operations and Safety Training. Intro to CNC Plasma, Intro to CNC Shopbot, Intro to Laser Cutter, etc. There is not a general FUSE safety training.
Specialty workshops may be intermediate or advanced workshops (such as Intermediate Woodshop) that are designed for people who have already taken the introductory Operations and Safety Training and would like to get more experience. They also include workshops that are not offered regularly, such as our bike cage or cutting board workshops. Any prerequisites are listed in the course description.
The Internet of Things & Rapid Prototyping Bootcamp will teach you the fundamentals of creating and coding smart connected devices built around low-power computer chips. Â
- Critical thinking and project selection
- Building a smart lighting controllerÂ
- You will learn about devices for smart cities and/or smart manufacturingÂ
- Design thinking to develop a group projectÂ
- Fundamentals of circuit design, coding C/C++, and integrationÂ
- Micro-controllers and Cloud-based IoT controllers
- 3D modeling and rapid prototyping skills
Throughout the bootcamp, you will hear from industry experts on the current trends and use cases involving IoT. Students will demonstrate their learning and projects to a group of prospective employers.Â
In Quantum Technician training, you will learn to solve complex, real-world problems that conventional technology can’t solve. We will teach you the fundamentals of quantum science, quantum technology, and quantum physics so that you are prepared for a high-tech manufacturing position in the semiconductor, solar manufacturing, and opto-electronics industries.
Entrepreneurship Workshops are regularly offered through ActivateNM
We do not offer jewelry workshops at this time. Jewelry classes are available through CNM's Fine Arts Department.
